Emilia Clarke Has A Pretty Good Reason Why She Hasn't Watched "House Of The Dragon"

Are you ready for House of the Dragon to come back for its long-awaited second season tonight?

Well, I'll tell you who isn't: Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke.

That's right, Daenerys Targaryen herself has no interest in watching the hit GoT spin-off — but, let's be clear, there's no hard feelings involved.

First, let's go back to January of last year, when Emilia told Variety that she had no plans to watch HotD any time soon. "I just can't do it. It's so weird. It's so strange," she said.

“It’s kind of like someone saying, ‘You want to go to this school reunion that’s not your year? Want to go to that school reunion?’ That’s how it feels. I’m avoiding it."

Now, it's been a year and a half since her comments — and, hey, people change, and they change their minds, too. Right?

In a new interview with People, Emilia told the publication that she "still can't" watch the prequel to the show that made her a household name.

"I just don't know what it is," she said. "I feel so content and happy with what my experience was, that I think watching the new one would just feel so odd, I think."

Don't worry, though, because it's all love in the end. "I really do fully support the entire thing and everyone who's made it, and it's beautiful how successful it's been," she says. "It's absolutely amazing."
