EMAs 2024 to Honor Quinta Brunson, Reveals Nominations

The Environmental Media Association has unveiled its list of nominated productions for this year’s awards gala, in addition to honoring “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson for her environmental leadership.

“I’m truly honored to receive the EMA Futures Award,” said Brunson. “As someone who deeply cares about the environment, it means a lot to be recognized for using both my platform and my comedy to inspire change. I’m proud to be part of a community that values sustainability, and I’m excited to keep moving forward on a path toward a greener planet.”

The gala will be hosted by Malin Akerman and Dermot Mulroney on Oct. 26 at the Radford Studio Center in Los Angeles. The ceremony brings together environmental trailblazers in television and film to celebrate sustainable achievements on set and on screen.

“I’m so excited to return to the stage to host the EMA Awards this year,” said Akerman. “Being on the EMA Board for over 15 years has informed my choices in every aspect of my life. As a mother, sustainability in our home not only keeps my family safer but teaches my son lifelong values. The EMA Awards is my favorite event of the year and always inspires me to look ahead with a renewed sense of purpose.”

“The EMA Awards Gala is a time to celebrate environmental achievements in our industry and unite around a shared vision towards a more sustainable future,” said EMA CEO Debbie Levin. “As the most visible industry in the global community, our storytelling and production standards lead other sectors. We’re so proud and excited to be celebrating the EMA Green Seal’s 20th anniversary this year and the program’s global influence. Today, there are sustainability groups and companies that assist in achieving the EMA Green Seal application and guidelines, green stewards and of course, departments at all studios across all industries. We created the EMA Green Seal to move the industry forward with sustainable actions behind the scenes and we are now the global standard in green production.”
