Elon Musk Wants to Sit Down With Jon Stewart—On One Condition
Elon Musk just might be headed to The Daily Show.
In a post from a little known X account, a user expressed their wish that Musk and Jon Stewart sit down together, fresh off of Stewart’s monologue tearing into DOGE (and inadvertently, his own hand). Musk replied to that account, revealing that he would go on the show—under one condition.
“I will do it if the show airs unedited,” Musk declared.
The Daily Show’s official X account took note, responding, “we’d be delighted!”

On Monday night, Stewart got so worked up in his monologue critiquing DOGE’s cuts to government spending that he accidentally cut himself on a coffee mug and had to finish his remarks as his hand bled off camera beneath his desk.
“I’m starting to think that we as a country don’t understand where the real waste, fraud, and abuse in our system really is,” he said during the show, before listing off several seemingly obvious ways to curb waste without eliminating helpful government programs, such as cutting subsidies and tax breaks for oil and gas and pharmaceutical companies.
Now, Stewart may get the chance to discuss his concerns with the man behind the headlines. But as of now, there are no concrete plans yet for a Musk appearance, a representative for Daily Show network Comedy Central told Deadline.
Last January, Musk expressed admiration for Stewart when the host took aim at Biden on his show.
“The stakes of this election don’t make Donald Trump’s opponent less subject to scrutiny, it actually makes him more subject to scrutiny,” Stewart said in a clip posted to X, to which Musk replied, “balance and humor return!”
