Ellie Goulding ties knot to Casper Jopling at star-studded wedding ceremony
British singer songwriter Ellie Goulding tied the knot to Casper Jopling at a star-studded ceremony in York, England, on Saturday.
The 32-year-old hitmaker and art dealer Casper exchanged vows in front of British royalty and a host of celebrities at York Minster Cathedral.
Ellie had been dating her 27-year-old beau since March 2017, before the pair announced their engagement in August last year.
They were reportedly introduced through mutual friends, one of which is rumoured to have been Princess Eugenie.
Ellie Goulding shuns tradition
Ellie Goulding looked radiant in a bespoke Chloé wedding dress designed by Natacha Ramsay-Lévi.
The gown is said to have taken over 640 hours to make and featured the couple's initials embroidered on the veil and collar.
But the glowing bride did shun some traditions as she was seen arriving to the venue in a blue Volkswagen camper van.
After the ceremony her and new hubby Casper also left in the classic car.
The singer had seven bridesmaids, including pals Hannah Lowe, Cassandra Gracey (President for Sony Music), and fashion stylist Zoe Jervoise Graham.
The bridesmaids wore white and helped Ellie out of the van and into the church, carrying her long train as she waved to onlookers.
A celebrity affair
The A-list wedding was attended by the likes of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.
English actress Sienna Miller also looked stunning as she arrived hand-in-hand Lucas Zwirner, 28.
Fellow singer James Blunt was also there with his wife Sofia Wellesley.
The celebration wasn’t short on British royalty either. The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and her two daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were all there.
Ellie has been good friends with Princess Eugenie for years, with the pair holidaying together in Jordan in 2017.
Ellie Goulding hires world’s most sought after wedding planner
According to reports the extravagant affair was masterminded by one of the world’s most sought after party planners Sarah Haywood — whose average wedding costs a whopping $2 million.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle previously Sarah opened up about organising weddings for for Fortune 500 businessmen, princesses, and popstars.
“The super wealthy want everything we mere mortals want, only more of it, bigger and better,” Sarah said.
“They don’t want flowers, they want a garden in a bespoke greenhouse structure. They don’t want a band, they want Beyonce. They don’t want a firework show, they want a huge display on a par with New Year’s Eve in Sydney. They demand the wildly extravagant - and that’s hugely expensive.”
