Ellen DeGeneres may stumble upon some familiar faces after making the English countryside her new home.

A source told PEOPLE on Thursday that the former talk show host and comedian, 66, has relocated to the U.K. from Southern California in the last couple of months.

"Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October. She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after," the insider said.

Earlier this month, DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, were spotted letting loose at a pub called The Farmer's Dog in the Cotswolds, a swath of the English countryside known for its rolling hills, historic architecture and quaint villages.

The scenic area reaches across six counties – Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, as well as some parts of Somerset, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire – and its idyllic nature has inspired a number of celebrities to make it their home.

The married power couple of 25 years purchased their Cotswolds home, located near the celebrity-loved Soho Farmhouse, for a reported $7.7 million in December 2016, according to House Beautiful.

They reportedly renovated the sprawling estate after purchasing it, and the property now includes a garden, pool, sauna, football pitch, spa and treehouse, per the outlet.

The former soccer star filmed multiple scenes at their country home for the 2023 Netflix documentary Beckham. In the limited series, he opened up about the serene location and explained why they purchased their home.

“I wanted a place where we could escape. As soon as I get into the countryside, I normally get into my whole country getup. And I’ve got a stick, and I walk around,” he says during the episode as he travels through his lush yard. “I sit out here, have a cup of coffee.”

In a scene of David sitting down at a table and looking at his “favorite view of the house,” he cheekily jokes, “I can also see Victoria if she’s naked in the top window.”

Also in the documentary, David shows off the property’s football pitch as well as their bee farm in the opening scene. Both David and Victoria have shared an inside look at their beekeeping activities on social media, with David most recently offering a peek at their home farm and chicken coup in an Instagram Reel earlier in November.

In an interview with British Vogue back in 2018, the couple — who share children Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13 — told the outlet that some of their favorite activities to do as a family include “horse riding, pizza-making or fishing on their Cotswolds estate.”

The British supermodel opened up about her Cotswolds home located in west Oxfordshire during an interview with The Times in 2023.

She revealed that she really leans into the country life by being in bed by 11 p.m. most nights, “moonbathing” on her property, and “charging” her crystals outside in her garden. She also enjoys “wild swimming” where she goes “in a secret place, in the middle of lots of fields and only the villagers are allowed to use it,” she told the outlet.

Earlier in 2021, Moss offered a look inside the bathroom at her historic Grade II-listed home, sharing with The Times that “my bathroom in the country is my favorite bathroom in the world. It’s my haven.”

Photos of the spacious room show a freestanding clawfoot bathtub, double vanities, dual sinks and a leather couch next to what appears to be the toilet.

Also at her estate, she enjoys growing her own vegetables such as potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and lettuce and then using them to cook Sunday lunch for her 22-year-old daughter Lila, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack.

The acclaimed artist purchased his 19th-century Gloucestershire home, Toddington Manor, in 2005 for $3.8 million, according to The Guardian. Hirst was reportedly planning to restore the property and turn it into his family home equipped with a private art gallery for his work.

However, his unfinished renovation plans reportedly received some backlash from locals after it was left sitting for years without any progress.

“It is one of the biggest eyesores in the area. People are fed up with it. Damien Hirst has had this property for 17 years now, but it is still clad in scaffolding and tarpaulin, and as far as we can tell there is no restoration in sight,” former Toddington Parish Council chairman Nigel Parker told the outlet at the time.

Toddington Manor is currently listed on Historic England’s “Heritage at Risk” register. Per the listing, the home was “mothballed” for years before a new owner, Hirst, purchased it.

“The house was mothballed for more than 15 years, but has been purchased by a new owner who engaged in an extensive programme of urgent works and repairs in consultation with the Local Planning Authority and Historic England,” the listing states.
