Dyson who? My go-to Shark hair tool is at its lowest price ever for Prime Day
Snag the FlexStyle for a salon-worthy blowout at a fraction of the Airwrap's price — and yes, it's just as good.
Heading to the salon for a weekly blowout isn't in the cards for most of us, but I've found a way to achieve pro-quality hair at home: The Shark FlexStyle. This handy hair tool comes with five attachments so I can dry, curl, volumize and smooth my hair without any heat damage. And right now, it's marked down by 21% percent during Amazon Prime Day — making it the lowest price it's ever been and one of Prime Day's best beauty deals.
The Shark FlexStyle has been my go-to hair tool for nearly two years now — and at this all-time-low price, it's worth it and then some.
Why is it a good Prime Day deal? 💰
The FlexStyle is normally $300 (well worth the price, in my opinion), but right now, you can snag it for just $237. While 21% may not sound like the biggest discount — especially on a major sale day like Prime Day — this is the lowest price the FlexStyle has ever seen. So if you've ever wanted to give it a try, add it to your cart before the sale ends!
Why do I need this? 🤔
If you've ever heard of the Shark FlexStyle, you've likely seen it compared to the Dyson Airwrap. They're both all-in-one hair tools that come with styling attachments that you can swap out. The biggest difference? The FlexStyle is almost half the price of the Dyson. I've used my friend's Dyson Airwrap before and loved how well it worked on my hair, but I could never justify spending $500 on it.
The FlexStyle uses powerful airflow to dry and style your hair instead of direct heat, making it much less damaging to hair compared with regular blow dryers and styling tools. Each set comes with the main drying device and five attachments: two 1.25-inch auto-wrap curlers, an oval brush, a paddle brush and a styling concentrator.
I am by no means good at doing my hair, but I found these attachments make it foolproof! They are easy to swap out and basically do what they're supposed to with the push of a button. The curlers use air to wrap your hair around the barrel, so you don't have to do it yourself. They're labeled left and right, so when you're finished curling one side, you swap the attachments and get started on the next. They leave me with shiny, bouncy curls every single time, and I'm usually able to curl my entire head in less than 20 minutes.
The oval brush and paddle brush are great for when I want to do a quick at-home blowout. The oval adds some volume and the paddle brush comes in handy when I want things smooth and sleek. I don't use the styling concentrator often, but if I needed to dry my hair quickly using my regular brush, it would be great. But I prefer the ease of the other attachments that basically do all the work for me.
I think the FlexStyle works just as well as the Dyson (for a fraction of the price!) and I like that the drying device can be used on its own as a regular hair dryer too. Just push a button and twist the top portion to swap it from a styling tool to a powerful blow dryer. The FlexStyle is lightweight and compact, so I'm able to pack it when I travel, though I do wish it came with a storage case like the Dyson.
What reviewers say 💬
Over 2,600 Amazon shoppers have given this hair helper their seal of approval too.
Pros 👍
One shopper called it "life-changing" before adding, "This set is amazing! It's so easy to use. Looks like I just walked out of a salon every time I use it. I absolutely love it!"
"This is the perfect blow dryer brush," raved another. "It's so easy to use. It leaves my hair feeling like I just left the salon. It gives my hair volume, and I can wear my hair in that style for a couple [of] days."
Even professionals love it. "OK, first and foremost, buying a $300 hairdryer is a luxury, a $700 hairdryer is a rip-off," wrote one reviewer. "I've tried the Dyson before since I work in professional hair care, and I found that I did give beautiful results, but the price tag was just wild. So I decided to give the FlexStyle a shot and if I didn't like it, I would return it. This not only gives a more natural curl, it provides more features than the Dyson Airwrap. The hairdryer is quiet and easy to use and honestly, it just looks really sleek and classy."
Cons 👎
Some customers agreed with me, wishing the FlexStyle came with a storage case. "It has never been easier to blow dry and style my hair at the same time. I have long, frizzy, curly hair and this tool helps me style my hair within 20 minutes. I just wish it came with a carrying case, only downside so far," wrote one.
Others said it takes a while to get the hang of the FlexStyle, but it was worth it. Said one reviewer: "It has a learning curve for the styling tools, and I do wish the curls held longer in my stubborn hair, but it will be so much healthier with less heat on it! I wish I had splurged on this earlier."
