Duchess of Cambridge stuns in spectacular one-shoulder dress at BAFTAs 2019

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived to cheers as they walked the BAFTAs red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in London tonight.

Kate, 37, channelled Hollywood glamour in a bespoke, white, one-shoulder gown by designer favourite Alexander McQueen, with tulle flowers embroidered on one shoulder. She teamed it with glittery heels, believed to be Jimmy Choo’s £525 Romy style, and a jewel-topped satin clutch bag.

The mum-of-three accessorised with Princess Diana‘s diamond and south sea pearl dangle earrings. Diana wore the earrings to a Pavarotti Concert at The Royal Albert Hall in 1995.

Kate also borrowed the Queen’s diamond quatrefoil bracelet, which once belonged to the Queen Mother. The Duchess was first loaned the exquisite piece for the Anna Freud Centre Gala Dinner in November 2017.

Kate’s brunette locks were styled into an intricate updo and she finished her look with a shimmering grey smoky eye, bronzer and rose-pink lipstick.

Prince William was equally glamorous. The Duke looked smart in a black tux, complete with satin lapels, and a bow-tie for the ceremony.

The Duke has been President of the Academy since February 2010.

Tonight, he presented the Fellowship award to Martin Scorsese’s longstanding editor, Thelma Schoonmaker.

The Fellowship is the highest accolade bestowed by the Academy to an individual in recognition of an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, games or television

Kate has previously accompanied William twice to the BAFTAs.

Last year, she chose a dark green empire-line gown by designer favourite Jenny Packham with emerald jewellery, when she was pregnant with Prince Louis.

In 2017, she wowed in a floral-printed off-the-shoulder dress by Alexander McQueen, teamed with statement earrings.

Earlier today, Kensington Palace revealed further plans for the Duchess of Cambridge, architects Andrée Davies and Adam White, and the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show garden design.

The ‘Back to Nature Garden’ will have a natural woodland feel and contain a treehouse, a waterfall and stream, a rustic den, a campfire and stepping stones.

Next week, the Duchess will attend The Royal Foundation’s ‘Mental Health in Education’ conference and the 100 Women in Finance gala dinner in support of the ‘Mentally Healthy Schools’ programme.
