Drew Barrymore's Instagram Story Just Revealed Incredible News
Drew Barrymore is diving into a new project that will make folks really excited.
While Drew is currently hosting The Drew Barrymore Show weekdays on CBS, it looks like she's going to take over the TV game show space in a unique way. In an announcement made by TV Insider on November 13, CBS revealed the network has plans to revive the classic game show Hollywood Squares (which first premiered in 1965), which will premiere on Thursday, January 9, 2025. What's more, Drew will take center stage by being the center square, with Nate Burleson as host.
"Good thing winter is the best time to snuggle up and get comfy on the couch, because we've got some exciting premieres coming your way 🤩," read the caption on CBS' official Instagram.
Not surprisingly, the announcement drummed up a lot of joy and nostalgia.
"I remember watching the old Hollywood squares with my mom! I can't wait for this new one!!" one person wrote in the comments. "I'm ready!!! Let's do this!!!" another declared.
So, what exactly is Hollywood Squares, and what is Drew's role in all of this? For those who aren't familiar with the game show, the format will see two contestants playing a form of tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes. The "board" for the game is actually a series of vertical cubes, featuring a celebrity seated at a desk. As the celebrities get asked questions, the contestants need to figure out if they're giving correct answers in order to get more squares. Drew will be the center square, where she will answer questions for the competitors.
Naturally, Drew is thrilled about her Hollywood Squares gig, as she shared on her Instagram story.
"I'm so excited!!!!" she passionately wrote.
Congrats, Drew! We can't wait to watch!
