It feels like ages ago that she started going viral for heartwarming or humble moments after the ascent of her show, The Drew Barrymore Show.

Well, there's more to come! In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Drew revealed that her show was renewed for two more seasons, and she wants to continue the joy and hopefully "practice physical distance."

"We were likely to not get there," Drew said about the show's renewal. "I always think that when good things happen, you should talk about it. You know, it wasn't just easy; it wasn't just handed. We had a lot of years of uncertainty. So, this feels all the more delicious because of that."

If you remember, Drew started her show in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, and from there, the show has gained a massive following for her authenticity and how she communicates with her guests. "When we launched in a pandemic, that obviously wasn't the way to go and tremendous risk," she said. "And I think it led to the uncertainty, but it also led to the possibility. If we were not given that chance, that unorthodox timing, we would not be here today."

"Sometimes it is good to take risks or do things that don't seem to make sense or don't seem like the right timing," Drew continued. "If you get tasked with something, you figure it out."

The Drew Barrymore Show held space for celebrities to share personal stories or experiences that you wouldn't always see on daytime television, but Drew, while well-intentioned, took up some of the "physical" space.

Fortunately, she plans to work on that for the next season. "Well, you know. I will try to practice physical distance, which is not my strong point."

"Do you know how hard the pandemic was for me? I was alone in a studio by myself. I like to be around people!" she said. "It's not everyone's favorite, but I'm sorry to those people."

In addition to learning to save a little room on the couch between her and the guests, Drew's mission for the next couple of seasons is to bring "the joy, the funny, the warmth," and "the news" to the people.

"Ever since I did E.T. when I was a kid, I was very convinced that people want a collective experience. They want community. They want to watch something and experience something together," Drew said. "We need this. We need the life-affirming. We need to feel and believe in the good because it's there, and I will spend every day finding it."
