Chocolate lovers rejoice… Italian chocolate maker Ferrero has just announced they are looking for 60 new taste testers.
They are the creators of the ever so tasty chocolate-hazelnut spread Nutella along with their famous Ferrero Rocher chocolates and now you could potentially land yourself the dream job of becoming their chocolate tester or “sensory judge” as they call it.
No experience necessary, the company is simply looking for people to work for two hours, two days per week.
The only catch is that the job is based at the company’s headquarters in Alba, northern Italy –alternatively, this added detail might just tempt you even more.
“We are looking for people who would like to learn how to taste cocoa, hazelnut grains and other semifinished sweet products,” says Ferrero’s research and development company, Soremartec Italia say in their poster ad.
It’s the first time they have offered this opportunity to “non-professionals” however the company is willing to invest in a three-month paid training course for successful candidates, starting in September.
The aim of this training is to apparently ‘tame’ their sense of taste and smell and teach them to express these sensations in words spoken like a true chocolate expert.
Once the course is completed, 40 out of the 60 will be selected to form two panels for a “long-term” contract, according to news.com.au.
Essentially the job requirements are as simple as ‘regular consumers’ with no allergies and the ability to use a computer.
