I’ve been on the fence about dying my hair for years. I have naturally dirty blonde hair and have contemplated going lighter every summer for as long as I can remember. But I never end up making that salon appointment, because I worry I won’t like the result or I won’t keep up with the color and I’ll end up with a weird, grown-out shade a few weeks later.

So when I heard that dpHUE was launching a tinted hair gloss that takes just two minutes to apply in the shower, I knew immediately I had to try it out. Glossy Glaze is the newest product to join the brand’s lineup and the newest permanent addition to my hair care routine.

Glossy Glaze is described as an “in-shower conditioning glaze [that] creates instant color dimension with a supernatural glow, [while] smoothing frizz and moisturizing hair.” Available in six shades, including a clear option, this product not only gives your hair a subtle boost of color but it leaves your strands soft and ridiculously shiny. The formula is packed with mullein flower extract, ceramides and other good-for-your-hair ingredients to nourish it and protect it from UV rays.

But my favorite part is that there’s no commitment — the gloss only lasts up to three washes.

Using Glossy Glaze also couldn’t be easier. You simply shampoo your hair as normal, squeeze out any excess water and then apply the gloss from your mid-lengths to your ends. Then you massage it through your hair, up to your roots, and leave it on for two to three minutes. After that, just rinse it out and style your locks as usual.

I tested out the Golden Blonde shade earlier this spring and absolutely loved the results. My hair still looked normal to me but kicked up a notch. It was soft, multi-dimensional and had a pretty golden hue that really brought out my natural highlights. Glossy Glaze has been a staple in my shower ever since.

Plus, at $30, this product is way cheaper than a trip to the hair salon. But it’s also safe for color-treated hair if you could use a little boost between your usual appointments.

If you’ve been looking for a way to amp up your hair without making too big of a change, Glossy Glaze is definitely worth a shot. All six shades are available now on dpHUE’s website and will hit Ulta later this spring.
