Doritos Is Bringing Back a Fan-Favorite Flavor From Almost 20 Years Ago and Fans Can’t Wait to Grab Some

We all know the heartache of our favorite food and drink items being discontinued. It feels like losing a little piece of joy! Whether it's a beloved seasonal drink or a favorite fast food menu item, the absence of our favorite treats leaves a big void.

Some popular fast food items that were discontinued include the McDonald's Snack Wrap (which is rumored to be coming back), Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza (which was discontinued in 2020 but was officially brought back) and Wendy’s Spicy Nuggets (which were discontinued in 2017, but were also brought back thanks to fans).

And now, thanks to news shared by content creator @snachwithzach, fans are celebrating the return of a fan-favorite Doritos flavor that's coming back after a nearly 20-year hiatus.

Over the years, Doritos has introduced many unique flavors, like Doritos Black Pepper Jack, which was discontinued in the early 2000s, and the Sonic Sour Cream flavor. One of the more popular flavors, though, were Guacamole Doritos, which were introduced in 2003. They had a loyal following but were discontinued in 2006. According to Zach, they're coming back for a limited time in the spring of 2025.

"Yyyeeess Doritos guacamole!!!" someone commented on Zach's Instagram post that announced the news. We'd like to pair it with some guacamole dip for extra guac flavor.

"Guacamole is a banger," another person said. It really was!

"Guacamole was my FAV flavor back in the day. And black pepper jack," someone else chimed in. We loved it, too!

"Those Doritos smell like high school to me lol," another person said. Bring on the nostalgia!

"They brought the guacamole Doritos back like 4 or 5 years ago briefly but I can’t wait. I wish they would make them a permanent flavor," someone commented. We would love to have this flavor back on the shelves all year round!

There was no definitive date on when the chips would be released, but Zach said we should start seeing them next Spring. We can't wait!
