Like any father, President Donald Trump only wants the best for his daughter Ivanka Trump.
But it appears despite Ivanka being married to American real estate developer Jared Kushner for nearly nine years, the president is still dwelling on what could have been.
Trump has apparently said on “several” occasions that he “could have had Tom Brady” as his son-in-law, according to the New York Times.
Yep, that’s right American football superstar and supermodel Gisele Bündchen’s husband Tom Brady.
“Instead I got Jared Kushner,” the president said, according to five witnesses.
Major ouch. But it was seemingly in a joking manner.
However, according to one of the sources, Trump also said, “Jared hasn’t been so good for me.”
It’s not the first time Trump’s desire for his daughter to marry Tom has come to light.
The 72-year-old’s first wife Ivana Trump revealed in her book Raising Trump last year, her ex-husband was keen for Ivanka to marry the football superstar, but she just “wasn’t into it”.
Interestingly, back in 2015, Tom declared his support for Trump admitting it would be “great” if he became president.
However, following the election the football star changed his tune slightly.
“I talked to my wife and she said I can’t talk about politics anymore,” he told reporters at the time. “I think that’s a good decision.”
