It's been almost too quiet ahead of Dolphins forward Kenny Bromwich's Melbourne NRL reunion.

In the week leading up to Saturday's Suncorp Stadium clash there's been no banter directed his way from the Storm players he called teammates for 10 seasons.

Not even master niggler Cameron Munster.

"Surprisingly I haven't had any messages, I'd probably like to keep it that way to be fair," Bromwich smirked.

"It's all gone quiet."

The Dolphins' big splash into their debut season meant the occasion has snuck up on him.

"We had a lot of big firsts at this club ... I've had other things to worry about but I'm excited for this weekend," Bromwich said.

The 31-year-old moved north with brother Jesse and the pair have been a key part of the side's captivating maiden season under coach Wayne Bennett.

"It was pretty emotional leaving that place, but to come here and meet everyone and do the things we've done and create these bonds, I wouldn't change it," Bromwich said.

"I'm enjoying learning new things under new coaches ... and the weather here's lovely too."

The Dolphins are sixth, boasting the same 6-4 record as Melbourne and only trailing Craig Bellamy's side by seven points on for-and-against.

Used to tackling Nelson Asofa-Solomona at Storm training, he'll have to do it for the first time in a game this weekend.

"It's going to be a tough challenge but I have to be up for that," he said.

"Early in his career he was really big, really fast. He's still that, but he's matured a lot and gained a lot of confidence in himself."
