The cult of the beauty advent calendar is ever expanding, but no-on does things quite like Dior. Last year, the brand raised the bar with the unveiling of its extra-special La Malle des Rêves, or Trunk Of Dreams collection. So successful was this exclusive offering, the brand has brought it back once more for 2024 – with a few extra surprises to boot.

Sitting alongside its equally popular (and more modestly priced) Le 30 Montaigne Advent Calendar (which includes a mixture of Dior Beauty classics) this limited-edition offering celebrates the brand's most prestige fragrance line, La Collection Privée, as well as its most exceptional skincare and make-up products.

An ornamental statement, the wooden construction covered in Toile du Marais fabric depicts the image of the house’s 30 Avenue Montaigne flagship in Paris and is decorated with artist Pietro Ruffo’s interpretation of the neighbouring Tuileries Garden. Clearly, the “eternal piece”, as Dior Beauty puts it, is not just for Christmas. That said, within the 24 drawers of the grand keepsake are enough skin, make-up and fragrance treats to keep you glowing through the never-ending list of celebrations and events, with some stellar highlights contributing towards the £3,400 price tag.

This year, you can expect a host of products (with no sample sizes in sight) including five full-size fragrances from the La Collection Privée line. Notable scents are the iconic chypre Gris Dior and the cosy, vanilla-spiked Ambre Nuit (a favourite amongst the Bazaar beauty team). Candles in varying sizes will keep every corner of your home smelling beautifully festive (keep an eye out for Bois des Rêves, which was created by house nose Francis Kurkdjian exclusively for the calendar), while the new Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose Activated Serum is your cold-weather hydration hero.

In the make-up realm, there's a party-perfect red lipstick in store (plus the matching nail polish) as well as nourishing nude formulas for the days in-between. Candle accessories and home decorations bring an element of surprise, while perhaps the most exciting inclusion is a Toile de Jouy Mitzah scarf in a signature house pattern, designed to be wrapped around your neck or handbag handle.

And if, after all that, you're still after a little more ceremony? Imagine your Trunk of Dreams being hand-delivered in an engraved wooden box – not to be opened before December 1, of course.

The Dior Trunk Of Dreams is priced at £3400 and will launch towards the end of October, with a waitlist open now. Only 120 have been produced.
