Designers Compete for the Starriest Front Row at Paris Couture Week Fall 2024: Jennifer Lopez, Doja Cat and More Celebrities
Before the Olympic Games kick off in Paris, all eyes are on the fall 2024 haute couture shows. Already it would seem like designers have entered a competition all their own to see who can draw the starriest front row.
At Dior, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri opened the proceedings strong with an homage to ancient Rome that included Colosseum-worthy draped sheaths and singlets worn over gladiator sandals. In attendance were Lucie de la Falaise, Alex Riviere, Doja Cat and Jennifer Lopez.

Lopez looked every bit the chic French couture client in a tonal brown overcoat and new-look style dress accessorized with what else, but a black Lady Dior bag dangling from her arm.
Meanwhile, Thom Browne continued to curry favor with the Gen Z crowd. Actors Evan Mock, Emma Myers and Omar Ayuso, who have officially joined his league of prepster fashionistas, sat next to one another, posing for cameras in the American designer’s signature plaids and pleated skirts.
On the runway, Browne’s X-ray examinations of haute couture underpinnings made in toile canvas were just as well turned-out, surely a Herculean effort for his petit mains.
Other notable guests at Browne’s show included Teyana Taylor and Serena Williams, the latter in a scarlet-colored bustier dotted with embroideries shaped like his very own dachshund Hector.
Chanel may have traded the Grand Palais for the Opera Garnier as the former readies for its Olympic debut, but house codes were still in order. Kiera Knightley did her role as brand ambassador justice, mimicking this season’s balletic lineup, which was designed by an in-house team after Virginie Viard abandoned her post as creative director, while Michelle Williams went more demure for her first-ever couture show in a little black column.
