When the Jonas Brothers and their moody pop hits first came on the scene in the 2010s, Joe Jonas (alongside brothers Kevin and Nick) became an instant heartthrob. In the decades since, he's captured the hearts of many big stars. From major throwbacks, like his summer fling with Taylor Swift and one-month coupling with Demi Lovato, to his marriage with Sophie Turner, which ended in two kids and a divorce, Jonas's flames have given him quite the writing material. He is a man who believes in love after all. Read ahead for a dive into each of the musician's relationships.

Mandy Van Duyne (2005)

Jonas's relationship history dates all the way back to childhood, when he was romantically linked to his childhood friend, Mandy Van Duyne. The two dated and split in high school. While their relationship took place before the Jonas Brothers were launched into superstardom, it appears Van Duyne had a lasting affect, as she inspired the brothers' song "Mandy" from It's About Time.

“Mandy is our childhood friend that has always been a part of our lives. She dated Joe at one point. Although they are no longer together, they will be best friends forever,” the band told AOL.

Jonas's first public romance was with fellow musician AJ Michalka from Aly & AJ. The pair dated for a year after the Jonas Brothers toured with the sister duo.

In 2016, Michalka revealed that Jonas was her first kiss. “No one knows he was my first kiss. I’m pretty sure I was his too,” she told MTV. “[The Jonas Brothers] opened for us when we were all like, 15, and so we started dating and we were together for a year.”

Fans speculated that Aly & AJ's "Potential Breakup Song" was about Jonas, however, the band clarified in 2020 that it was actually their song "Flattery" that was about Jonas.

Jonas's next relationship was chock full of star power, as he coupled up with Taylor Swift, whom he dated for four months between July and October 2008. The details of their relationship are minimal, barred to some cute photos of them at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and a couple of tracks, namely "Forever & Always" and "Mr. Perfectly Fine." Both songs appear on Swift's second studio album Fearless, which she released a month after they split.

The record-breaking songwriter more or less confirmed Jonas was the inspiration behind "Forever & Always" during an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show. “Someday, I’m gonna find somebody really, really, really great, who’s right for me," she shared. "When I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful, and when I look at that person, I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.”

Over the years, Swift developed a friendship with Jonas's now-ex-wife Sophie Turner. The actress told British Vogue, "Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year," amid their divorce, as the "Cruel Summer" singer opened up her New York City apartment to Turner and her children.

Shortly after splitting from Swift, Jonas struck up a romance with 10,000 BC actress Camilla Belle. The two first met on the set of the Jonas Brother's "Lovebug" music video in 2008. They never confirmed their relationship, but were seen out together on several occassions.

In July 2009, Belle's rep confirmed they called it quits. “Yes, it’s true, they have broken up,” the rep told People. “There is no third party involved and they care deeply about each other and will remain friends.”

Demi Lovato (March-May 2010)

Life imitated art when Jonas started dating his Camp Rock co-star Demi Lovato. The two play on-screen love interests in the 2008 Disney film, however, things didn't turn romantic in real life until a couple years later. The pair went public with their relationship in March 2010, but quickly called it quits in May of the same year.

While they recognized they're not meant for each other romantically, they've stayed friendly. They performed together at a concert in 2016, attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty together in 2017, and Lovato even congratulated Jonas on his engagement to Turner later that year. Most recently, they attended the same Halloween party in 2021, where they took a selfie together.

Jonas and Ashley Greene struck up a romance in the summer of 2010 and went public with their coupling that November when they attended Broadway's Elf. A month later, they enjoyed a sweet date at Disney World. Jonas also rang in the Twilight star's 24th birthday in Las Vegas in February 2011.

A source told People at the time that Jonas was "head over heels" for the actress. However, they called it quits in March 2011, after less than a year of dating.

Jonas stirred up some controversy a few years later when he revealed on a subreddit dubbed "Ask Me Anything" that he lost his virginity to Greene while talking about the Jonas Brothers' purity rings. Greene posted on her Instagram shortly after, "Class is timeless," seemingly in response to the post.

Jonas addressed the situation while chatting with ET. “I mean ultimately, I think of myself as an honest guy. There are just those moments in life where you have to be true to yourself and true to the world,” he told the outlet. “I’m not out to hurt anybody, but I think, ultimately, I’m just telling my stories and what I can say from my heart.”

Jonas and model Blanda Eggenschwiler had quite a public romance since the beginning of their relationship in November 2012. They stepped out together on multiple occasions, including front row at New York Fashion Week. After less than two years of dating, Jonas's rep confirmed to People the pair had split in August 2014.

Gigi Hadid (Summer-November 2015)

Jonas and Gigi Hadid first started dating in the summer of 2015, however, their history dates back a few years before then. The model told ET that the musician asked her out in 2008.

"We met at the Grammys when I was 13 years old," she said. "And he asked me to a baseball game, and I said, 'No.'"

The pair were seen out and about at the US Open, Paris Fashion Week, and even double dating with then-couple Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris. They took their relationship from romance to business when Hadid co-directed Jonas's band DNCE's "Cake By the Ocean" music video.

“She had a megaphone. She was a badass,” Jonas told People. “Everybody really looked up to her to lead and she really came through and showed us that she could do it.”

In October 2015, they made their red carpet couple debut at the Global Lyme Alliance inaugural gala in New York. They attended in support of Hadid's mom, Yolanda Foster, who was honored for her advocacy work.

Just a month later, the two parted ways. “Joe and Gigi’s relationship recently ended,” a source told People. “Nothing serious happened…it wasn’t a dramatic break up. It was just hard to make it work with their schedules. They will definitely remain friends.”

Sophie Turner (October 2016-September 2023)

Like any modern romance, Jonas and Turner sparked a relationship after the singer slid into the Game of Thrones star's Instagram DMs on October 2016. "We had a lot of mutual friends, and they'd been trying to introduce us for a long time," Turner told Harper’s Bazaar UK. "We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue."

That December, a source confirmed their coupling to People, saying, "They're dating exclusively. He was playing the field, but he really likes her and is willing to settle down for her.”

Things progressed quickly, as they announced their engagement in October 2017 and tied the knot with two weddings, one in Las Vegas and another in France. Turner also became writing material for the artist, as he based "Hesitate," the band's song on their 2019 album Happiness Begins, off of her.

In July 2020, they officially became parents, when they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Willa. The family of three became four, when they welcomed their second daughter, Delphine, two years later.

After four years of marriage, Jonas and Turner went their separate ways, when the singer filed for divorce in Miami. His filing claimed "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken." The exes shared a joint statement on Instagram shortly after.

“Statement from the two of us: 'After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,'” they both wrote on Instagram.

“There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,'" the statement concluded.

Jonas and Turner didn't reach a settlement agreement until one year after the filing, on September 11, 2024.

Just four months after filing for divorce from Turner, Jonas was spotted boarding a private jet in Cabo San Lucas with Stormi Bree. Just days later, the artist and model were seen in Aspen, Colorado, where they enjoyed a romantic dinner, hit the slopes with friends, and even shared clothes. The next month, they were captured looking loved up and sharing kisses in Sydney, Australia, ahead of the Jonas Brothers' shows.

After a few whirlwind months, Entertainment Tonight reported they ended their relationship (with no further explanation) on June 2, 2024.
