Dean McDermott Says His Ex Tori Spelling and New Girlfriend ‘Get Along Fabulously’: ‘It’s a Beautiful Thing’
“I’m blessed, you know, having everybody get along and come together for the greater good of the kids,” McDermott said
Dean McDermott's ex Tori Spelling and new girlfriend Lily Calo are on good terms.
The Chopped Canada star, 57, was first spotted with his Calo in October 2023 after seemingly splitting with Spelling in June, when he posted — then deleted — a breakup announcement on Instagram. Now, however, he says Spelling and Calo "get along fabulously."
“I’m blessed, you know, having everybody get along and come together for the greater good of the kids,” he told Page Six, referring to his and Spelling’s five children: Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 7. “I just, I’m so blessed. It’s a beautiful thing.”
“If I do the right things and I live an estimable and respectable life, you know, I get these wonderful gifts in my life,” he added.
Last week, Spelling, 50, was captured on camera giving McDermott and Calo a hug and a kiss on the cheek as she greeted them during an event at Dave & Busters in Los Angeles for one of Spelling’s kids. The actress and Conscious Community Global executive were also photographed playing side-by-side on one of the arcade games.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum has also moved on and was spotted kissing Ryan Cramer, the CEO of Santa Monica-based agency Neuron Syndicate Inc., in November.
Despite the two exes going their own ways, McDermott shared with Page Six that Spelling is still his “biggest fan” and continues to support him from afar on maintaining his sobriety journey. He described her as “caring,” “empathetic” and someone who “wants the best for everybody” sometimes “at the expense of her happiness.”
“You know, she just wants me to be happy. Bottom line. And she’s such an incredible woman that way,” McDermott told the outlet. “She’s one of the most generous people I’ve ever met in my life.”
The Pretty Hard Cases actor also shared that Calo has also played a major role in helping him maintain his sobriety and has been a “great support” in recent months. He further shared that “things are going really well” in their relationship.
McDermott announced his separation from Spelling in a since-deleted social media post in June writing, "It's with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways, and start a new journey of our own.”

In November, he opened up to the Daily Mail about the demise of their 18-year marriage. He revealed that the couple hadn't been sleeping in the same bed anymore, and their marriage was characterized by “anger and…yelling.”
“It ended up with me drinking a fifth of tequila every night, seven days a week, and a handful of narcos [narcotics] by myself with, you know, a beautiful family in the other room,” he said. “That's what it led to and that's what led to the brokenness. I couldn’t do it anymore. I couldn’t live that life anymore.”
