David Beckham's kiss with daughter Harper, 9, sparks debate
David Beckham has sparked a heated debate on social media after his wife shared a snap of him kissing their daughter Harper on the lips on Instagram.
In the pic, the sporting legend, 45, is seen planting a smooch on the nine-year-old while on a sweet father-daughter day out on a picturesque organic farm.
“The best daddy,” Spice-Girl-turned-fashion-designer Victoria Beckham captioned the pair of photos on Wednesday.
The second snap shows David and Harper proudly displaying the autumn wreath they made together after collecting the multi-coloured foliage from the rural property in Gloucestershire.
Over on his Stories, David posted several photos of Harper picking apples and various veggies ahead of their wreath-making project.
“My clever little florist,” he gushed of his daughter’s efforts.
Not everyone was happy about the soccer superstar’s intimate moment with his youngest child, with many Instagram users taking to the comments section to share their outrage.
“Why is he kissing her in her lips?” wrote one.

“David, that kind of kiss with your daughter... It is pretty weird,” added another.
Others, however, didn’t seem to have a problem with the kiss and came to David’s defence.
“I question what sort of person has a problem with a child’s parent kissing them!! It is you that has seriously warped mind, shame on you!” one wrote.
“He's such a good dad,” added another.
It’s not the first time David has faced criticism for kissing Harper on the lips.
Back in 2018, outspoken Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan branded the behaviour ‘weird’ after seeing a pic of David giving his then seven-year-old daughter a peck on the lips while ice skating.
“If the kid’s seven you don’t kiss them on the lips,” he said. “My sons got a firm handshake or the 50 Cent shoulder thing, or a full manly hug.
“I think it’s weird.”
Both David and Victoria have come out in defence of their parenting choices in the past.
“I kiss all my kids on the lips,” the former England captain has previously commented. “Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m very affectionate with the kids.
“It’s how I was brought up – and Victoria – and it’s how we are with our children.”
