David Beckham is again being criticised for kissing daughter Harper on the lips

David Beckham is being trolled, once again, for posting a photo of him kissing seven-year-old daughter Harper on the lips.

In the Instagram post, David, 43, sweetly pecks Harper on the lips on an ice skating rink.

The picture has garnered 1.8 million likes – but some of David’s 52.2 million followers weren’t fans of the loving gesture.

One person called the image “just sick!!!”, while another wrote: “Call the police”.

I don’t care what anyone says if a dad kisses a child on the lips it’s completely wrong,” another added.

However, others rushed to defend the former footballer, arguing there was nothing wrong with the photo.

“There’s nothing strange about kissing your own children on the lips while they’re little,” one person defended the footballer. “But for someone who didn’t grow up in a culture that showed affection this way, it may seem unusual. All I can say is it is ADORABLE.”

David clearly sees nothing wrong with kissing his young daughter on the lips, and has previously posted pictures of himself doing so.

Nor is he the only celebrity parent who proudly posts pictures kissing their children.

Victoria Beckham has previously posted a picture of herself kissing Harper on the lips.

Hilary Duff has also posted a picture of her kissing her son Luca, then four, on the lips.

Kim Kardashian shared a cute picture of her kissing her youngest son, Chicago, then seven months old, last September.

Kissing children on the lips remains a polarising issue, with some parents all for it and others preferring to kiss children on the face or hug instead.

As one study which links parental affection with higher self worth in later life proves, it is important for a child to feel loved, no matter what form that takes.
