Some of Dance Moms‘ most famous alums are stepping back into the studio.

A two-hour reunion special, titled Dance Moms: The Reunion, will premiere Wednesday, May 1 at 8/7c on Lifetime, TVLine has learned. In it, fan-favorite cast members JoJo Siwa, Chloe Lukasiak, Brooke Hyland, Paige Hyland, Kendall Vertes and Kalani Hilliker look back on their time on the reality show and how it impacted their professional careers, with additional appearances from their moms Jessalynn Siwa, Christi Lukasiak, Kelly Hyland, Jill Vertes and Kira Hilliker.

Lifetime has also released a trailer for the reunion special — which you can watch above — with the girls reflecting on their moms’ heated arguments with infamous dance instructor Abby Lee Miller. (Brooke and Paige’s mom Kelly confesses that after one physical altercation with Miller, “I feel like I ruined your life and your dance career.”) After enduring harsh criticism from Miller as a child, a tearful Chloe remembers that “I thought I wasn’t enough… in every single way.” As Paige puts it, “it’s hard to say I forgive her when she did so many nasty things to me.” (Miller does not appear at the reunion, for the record.)

Also conspicuously absent from the reunion are cast members like Maddie Ziegler, who grew up to become a star as a dancer, actress and influencer. JoJo seems to allude to her absence in the trailer when she says, “Them not being here is kind of like, ‘Let me erase my past. Pretend it never happened. Shove it down the drain,’ when it’s like, that’s why you are who you are.”

Dance Moms debuted on Lifetime in 2011 and followed Abby Lee Miller and her abrasive teaching style as she trained young girls to dance at her Pittsburgh studio. The show became a hit, running for eight seasons and more than 200 episodes. Lifetime cut ties with Miller in 2020 after past racist comments made by her came to light; a planned dance competition series featuring Miller was scrapped as a result.
