Dan Aykroyd Reveals He Still Visits Estranged Wife Donna's 'Magnificent Home' 2 Years After Their Separation (Exclusive)
Not every celebrity marriage ends in a divorce court brawl. Occasionally Hollywood A-listers part ways so amicably that they winter in their ex's "magnificent home" in LA. Such is the case with Saturday Night Live icon Dan Aykroyd.
In a recent Parade exclusive interview, the Ghostbusters actor revealed that while he and his wife, actress Donna Dixon, have separated, they still cohabitate at times.
"Donna, my wife, lives in Los Angeles," Aykroyd shared. "We don't live together full-time anymore. But I get to visit her magnificent home and be with our three daughters: Danielle, Belle and Stella." Aykroyd splits his time between LA and his homes in Ontario, Martha's Vineyard and the Virgin Islands. "I'm kind of a nomad," he said.

Aykroyd and Dixon married in 1983 after meeting on the set of Doctor Detroit. Neither had been married previously, although Aykroyd was briefly engaged to Carrie Fisher. After tying the knot, Aykroyd and Dixon starred in several more films together and raised their three children. In 2022, after 39 years of marriage, the pair announced their separation, although they remain legally married.
"After 39 years as a couple we are now on separate life paths," they announced in a joint statement. "We remain legally married, co-parents, co-workers and business partners. This is our choice in loving friendship."
Now, two years later, the "loving friendship" is still going strong.
