The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are returning to Netflix!

On Monday, Nov. 11, members of the iconic NFL cheering squad — including Reece Weaver, Jada McLean and Caroline Sundvold — revealed in a YouTube video that the docuseries, America's Sweethearts, has officially been renewed for Season 2.

The clip showed the squad performing a routine from inside their locker room while director Kelli Finglass could be overheard counting the beat before they revealed their pom poms on the ground shaped in a "2."

Per the streaming platform, "the fan-favorite series will return to continue giving viewers unfiltered access into this iconic team and franchise. Season 2 will follow the 2024-25 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad from start to finish — kicking off at auditions and training camp and continuing all the way through the NFL season."

Fans of Season 1 will remember that over seven episodes, cameras captured Finglass, as well as choreographer Judy Trammell, as they auditioned new members during tryouts before making necessary cuts to the team throughout training camp.

The series then followed Weaver, McLean, Sundvold and others as they navigated learning new and old routines — including the famous "Thunderstruck" number — while balancing the rigorous demands of the team with ups and downs in their personal lives.

As former squad member Victoria Kalena told PEOPLE, on America's Sweethearts, "you get to see the outside lives of the spectacular-ness of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders," while Trammell noted that she "enjoy[ed] seeing them and their personal lives."

America's Sweethearts' debut on Netflix in June 2023 followed 16 seasons of Making the Team on CMT, with director Greg Whiteley (Cheer) taking the docuseries in a new direction. Ahead of its premiere, Finglass told PEOPLE "the whole show has new access and you learn things about the cheerleaders that even we didn't know as their coaches."

She added at the time, "It's beautiful and it's vulnerable and I think it'll be very insightful for fans. And that was the right place for this type of storytelling to be."
