Dad’s heartbreaking last words to kids before dying of Covid
A dad has recorded a heartbreaking last message for his children from his hospital bed before dying of Covid-19.
Charles Torres used the last of his strength to tell his three kids and four step-children he loved them before dying from the brutal virus on Valentine’s Day.
"I love you with all my heart," Mr Torres, from Texas, says while gasping for breath.
"I love you so much. Know that daddy loves you."
The 35-year-old also urged them to take care of their mum before the footage ended.
Charles, who has suffered with pancreatitis since 2010, was admitted to the emergency room in mid-January, according to Fox 11 Los Angeles.
He was then diagnosed with Covid-19 and placed on a ventilator.
"One of the things that he did that was most important was that he loved his children and took care of his children," Charles’ dad, Alex, told Fox.

"He wanted to make sure he left something for the kids just in case things started going wrong.
"You never think it’s going to happen to you. I’ve been praying to God my entire life that I never outlive my children,” he said.
Texas re-opens amid Covid pandemic
The news comes as Texas Governor Greg Abbott lifted the state’s mask mandate and allowed all venues to open to 100 per cent capacity.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, almost 43,000 Texans have died from the virus.
President Joe Biden has heavily criticised the move.
"The last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime, everything’s fine, take off your mask, forget it. It still matters," he said on Wednesday (local time).
