Coyote Vs. Acme Star Will Forte Says ‘Incredible’ Looney Tunes Movie Likely ‘Never Will’ Be Released
That’s (probably) all, folks.
Actor Will Forte, who stars in the embattled Warner Bros. Pictures Animation film Coyote Vs. Acme, shared his disappointment on Thursday that the movie likely “never will” be seen by audiences or those involved with the film’s production.

“To the Cast and Crew of Coyote Vs Acme — I know that a lot of you haven’t gotten a chance to see our movie. And sadly, it’s looking like you never will,” Forte wrote in an Instagram post. “When I first heard that our movie was getting ‘deleted,’ I hadn’t seen it yet. So I was thinking what everyone else must have been thinking: This thing must be a hunk of junk. But then I saw it. And it’s incredible.
“Super funny throughout, visually stunning, sweet, sincere, and emotionally resonant in a very earned way,” he continued. “As the credits rolled, I just sat there thinking how lucky I was to be a part of something so special. That quickly turned to confusion and frustration. This was the movie they’re not going to release?”
Forte went on to say that “I don’t know s—t about s—t” regarding the business of Hollywood, and “the people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it. It doesn’t mean I have to like it (I f—king hate it). Or agree with it. And it doesn’t mean that this movie is anything less than magnificent.
“You would be so proud of it — a movie that should be seen, but won’t,” he concluded. “Please know that all the years and years of hard work, dedication and love that you put into this movie shows in every frame.”
Coyote Vs. Acme — a live-action/animated hybrid that follows Wile E. Coyote as he sues the Acme Corporation for the defective merchandise he’s purchased in his pursuit of the Road Runner — was initially slated for a theatrical release, but Warner Bros. scrapped that plan in November 2023. The film was shopped to several potential distributors, but according to a report from The Wrap earlier this month, Warner Bros. Discovery is strongly considering shelving the movie altogether in favor of a substantial tax write-off.
As of press time, Warner Bros. has yet to formally announce a decision on Coyote Vs. Acme‘s fate. The live-action cast includes Forte (as Wile E. Coyote’s attorney), John Cena (as the CEO of Acme) and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before‘s Lana Condor.
