Country Icon Alan Jackson Posts Sweet First Photo With 'Precious Angel' Grandson

Alan Jackson officially has two grandbabies—and it looks like he couldn't be prouder.

On Tuesday, July 2, the "Remember When" singer shared his first-ever Instagram photo with the newest member of the family, Wes, who was born on June 20 to Alan's daughter Mattie and her husband Connor Smith.

In the sweet new snap, Alan and his longtime wife Denise Jackson could be seen posing next to their eldest daughter, who was lying in a hospital bed and cradling her new bundle of joy.

"Denise and I are so happy to announce the arrival of our grandson Wesley Alan Smith," the 65-year-old country legend wrote in his post, adding, "Proud parents @MattieJackson and Connor Smith welcomed Wes into the world on June 20, 2024."

Baby Wes—who shares his middle name with his grandfather—is now the second grandchild of Alan and Denise, whose daughter Ali welcomed her first child with husband Sam Bradshaw in December 2022.

Alan shared a similar announcement post at the time, once again uploading a photo of him and Diane posing with the then-newborn, and proudly telling his Instagram followers the baby's full name: Jackson Alvie Bradshaw.

"So happy that this little guy has made us grandparents!" Alan wrote in his caption at the time, while noting that Jackson was born right around the time he and Diane celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.

The "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow" crooner has been happily married to Denise since 1979. In addition to their two oldest daughters, Alan and Denise are also parents to their youngest daughter, 26-year-old Dani Grace.
