Cotton On product recalled over potentially deadly risk to children

Cotton On Kids and Cotton On have issued an urgent product recall for a projector light due to the risk of "serious illness and even death" in children.

The recall applies to products purchased between 20 December 2018 and 17 May 2021.

The projector light is a torch that projects images onto walls. However, the issue lies with the button battery compartment of the product may not be adequately secured and the batteries may be easily accessible.

"If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death," the ACCC warns.

"In addition, the batteries may pose a choking hazard to young children."

Customers should immediately stop using the product and return it to any Cotton On Kids or Cotton On store for a full refund.
