The only thing we’ve seen less than our family this year are our bras.

Though we made an exception for sports bras (you try doing a Joe Wicks PE session without one), on the whole we gave up wearing underwired garments back in 2020.

And though there are many things we are really looking forward to doing when the world opens up again, having to wear a bra again isn’t one of them.

However, we think we have found the solution.

The Flexifit™ Non Wired Crop Top from Marks & Spencer comes in four colours, black, white, red and yellow, and offers full-cup coverage without underwire or padding.

We can’t take all the credit for finding this miracle hybrid, the 570 reviews already on the M&S website suggest that the bra-wearing portion of the population stumbled upon it a while ago.

However, if this is the first time you’re hearing about the Flexifit™ Non Wired Crop Top then we recommend getting in on the action ASAP.

Watch: Why Calvin Klein is more than its iconic underwear

Why we rate it:

The smooth edges make the bra perfect for wearing under clothing and the special Flexifit fabric gives a second-skin feel.

Plus, instead of an underwire, a gel under band moves as you do, offering comfortable barely-there support.

The comfortable crop top also costs a reasonable £20. However, if you're quick, the bolder red and yellow designs are currently on sale for only £14.50 - but are selling out quick.

What the reviews say:

  • “Best lockdown bra ever.”

  • “This is so comfy. I bought a 20 after reading the reviews, I’m normally a 16/18 and 34G. It’s fab and looks great. I love it.”

  • “So happy with this, much more comfortable than regular bra.”

  • “This is the second time I have purchased this top. Very comfortable. Bought larger size after reading other reviews, which was perfect. It is easier to pull top on by stepping into it and pulling up.”

  • “I bought one of these crop tops to try as I was finding all of my bras uncomfortable. It is soft and comfortable. Not particularly supportive, but ideal for wearing under winter clothes.”
