College track star goes viral after clearing 61-inch hurdle: ‘Very impressive’
Washington State University athlete Emmanuel “Ray Ray” Wells Jr. is going viral for an incredible feat.
The track and field star managed to clear a 61-inch hurdle like it was no big deal. The four-time All-American athlete initially just held the school’s 60-meter sprint record with a time of 6.53 seconds but didn’t have any high jump records under his belt yet.
But this isn’t the first time the college athlete has gone viral for his impressive leap. In May, SportsCenter shared a clip of Wells clearing a 55-inch jump on Twitter.

“That’s been a lifelong childhood dream. It gets no bigger than that for an athlete making SportsCenter, ESPN. It’s a childhood dream being fulfilled,” Wells told KREM.
Looks like he has come a long way in just a few months.
Wells shared a video of the stunning moment on his Instagram.
“61 inches as promised,” he wrote in the caption.

In the clip, he jumped over a series of five bars, each increasing in height. Every leap is impressive and looks effortless, but when Wells pounces over the final 61-inch bar — it’s jaw-dropping.
The video received over 279,000 views on Instagram.
“Is that last jump even real? Well done!” one user commented.
“Very impressive,” another said.
“Get a basketball in this man’s hands, please,” someone suggested.
