Coles shoppers snap up $99 coffee machine for FREE

Everyone loves a bargain but a freebie is even better. Coles is giving shoppers the chance to get an Espressotoria capsule coffee machine worth $99 for FREE when they purchase six packets of the Espressotoria Vittoria Coffee Capsules.

When an employee from Coles spread the word about this offer in a Facebook group, bargain hunters were quick to jump on the deal.

"The deal definitely caught me by surprise and I work here," the Coles staffer wrote on Facebook.

"Just picked one up, 2 of each kind of capsules (3 different flavours), all together $51 worth of capsules and a free $99 coffee machine! (Or cheapest alternative regardless of flavour: spend $45 on 6 of the $7.50 capsules and get coffee machine free as well)," he added.

"This is a great buy, I did this years ago, got one for me and one for my daughter," one lady wrote.

"Thanks!!! It looks like I'm doing a trip to Coles at Noosa today!" another added.

"Thanks for posting, got one for my son today," one follower revealed.

One person pointed out the deal is a marketing strategy to gain long-term business, writing: "They capture an ongoing customer for what could be years. So although it seems like a bargain it actually is just a cheap way for them to make an ongoing profit that they would never have had if the machine wasn't free."

But most people didn't care – a freebie is a freebie.

"The last time we ran this type of promotion, stock of machines ran out very quickly, long before the promotion ended," Rolando Schirato, managing director for Vittoria Food & Beverage, told news.com.au.

"We even heard stories of people shopping around in different stores to find machines," he added.

Shoppers share more coffee machine deals

While the Coles Mother's Day promotion is in participating stores until 24th May 2022, or stock runs out, it's not just Coles that does deals on these machines.

"I have this machine and it’s great. It’s always on sale for at least 1/2 price at Woolies and the pods are also frequently 50% off," one fan of the Facebook group wrote.

Another pointed out Lavazza also runs similar promotions: "Costco has the same deal, buy 2 boxes of Lavazza pods and get the machine free. I’ve bought 3 already and give as gifts."

Either way, these deals are sure to please Aussie coffee fans.
