Royal baby jitters! Pregnant Duchess of Cambridge was frank with fellow expectant mums during a visit to London's Hope Hope House, Action on Addiction on Feb. 19. In her first official event following her controversial babymoon in Mustique, the 31-year-old royal showcased her growing baby bump in a MaxMara wrap dress and talked about her pregnancy with two recovering women in an art therapy class.

Lisa, a mother-of-three who did not want to give her full name, said: "I did ask her if she was nervous (about giving birth). She said it would be unnatural if she wasn't - she's human like us."

The Duchess also chatted to Natalie, who has a two-year-old daughter and is due to give birth to a second child in July - the same month as the Duchess who is more than four months pregnant.

The 28-year-old said the talk also turned to babies when they chatted: "We're due about the same time. She's been unwell and feeling better now and I felt pretty much the same the first time."

One topic not discussed during Prince William's wife's official visit? The criticisms by author Hilary Mantel, who called the royal a "shop window mannequin" with a "plastic smile" in a recent speech.

Countered Nick Barton, chief executive of Action on Addiction: "I can only speak of what I know, and having met the Duchess several times I find her to be engaging, natural and genuinely interested in the subject. You can tell a lot about someone from the questions they ask and she asks really good questions, the questions of someone who wants to learn. She is also an intelligent woman."

Added Barton of the Duchess' efforts: "She is doing an enormous amount to reduce the stigma of addiction and increase understanding of it."
