Controversial lingerie line for kids "totally inappropriate"

A French kids clothing line has totally crossed the line with a disturbing and inappropriate lingerie label for girls.

Jours Apres Lune, a French lingerie label for tiny tots to teens has caused controversy worldwide over its depictions of little girls wearing bras and underwear.

The collection which is aimed at 4-to-12-year-olds, shows dolled up young girls wearing visible makeup and over the top up-dos, while playing with teddy bears and pearls.

While some photos from the line are innocent enough, the majority of images show young girls styled only in underwear and pearls, smiling seductively at the camera.

These girls have no actual need to wear a bra and the toddlers should still be in nappies not underwear.

The story which was broken by Fashionista wrote, “What’s disturbing about Jours Après Lunes is... that it’s lingerie for people who probably shouldn’t be old enough to even know what lingerie is.”

The label which translates into "Days after Moons" was founded by Sophie Morrin, a long term lingerie designer who took inspiration from adults looks to create the inappropriate underwear for kids.

The author of Le Snob Lingeries, Marilisa Racco, told NY Daily News, “It's cute when a little girl dresses up in her mom's clothing and jewelry and high heels…These pictures are not cute. It's entirely inappropriate to put a 4-year-old in a bouffant like she's Brigitte Bardot in And God Created Woman.”

What type of message will this send to young girls? Has the fashion world finally gone too far?
