Will Click Frenzy work in 2019?
There’s just over a week until Click Frenzy 2019 and the multi-million dollar question is being asked once again: Will it be a raging success or another #clickfail?
What is Click Frenzy?
Click Frenzy is a 29-hour Australian online mega-sale offering thousands of deals from your favourite fashion, tech, travel and other brands and retailers, all in one place. Read all about it here and here.
What is #clickfail?
It’s no secret that Click Frenzy has been plagued by disastrous technical difficulties in the past. In fact, upon the event’s launch in 2012, the site crashed within minutes of going live.
#clickfail was the hashtag used on Twitter and Facebook in 2012 to discuss, question and relentlessly mock the event and its organisers.
The promises are true. #Clickfrenzy will help you save lots of money.....by preventing you from spending any. #clickfail

Seems online shopping on a Tuesday night is no different to heading to the shopping centre on a Tuesday night. It ain't open. #clickfail

Have you tried taking the cartridge out and blowing into it? #clickfrenzy #clickfail #failfrenzy

Clickstory repeats
In the years following the 2012, Click Frenzy events went relatively smoothly, with about the level of tech problems you’d expect and accept of such a large-scale endeavour.
But then in 2018, Click Frenzy Mayhem produced several colossal fails.
There were major login issues, dead deal links and thousands of consumers never received promised emails containing exclusive deals.
I think you mean the sale that stops your website #clickfrenzy

Like honestly @clickfrenzy ... it won't let me login at all. Why would businesses align with you when you can't even get the basics right? #clickfail

Organisers scrambled to save face on social media, but the damage had been done.
Every Year same thing #clickfrenzy #ClickFail , its like no one at the place learns from the mistakes of the previous years!!!
I mean @clickfrenzy knew it would have high demand but can't manage the traffic to site. https://t.co/MZK9Upix6b— Hugo (@hugobrown) November 13, 2018
So, will Click Frenzy 2019 go off without a glitch?
The organisers assure us that Click Frenzy November 2019 will be smooth surfing:
“We have engaged Amazon Web Services as our hosting partner, the world’s biggest public cloud hosting provider,” they told Yahoo Lifestyle.
“And implemented a revamped platform built by IE to ensure smooth delivery across mobile, tablet and desktop for Click Frenzy shoppers in November. We’re expecting numbers in the millions, and we’ve tested accordingly.”
We’re crossing our fingers and toes that their optimism pays off.
