Chynna Phillips Is No Longer Living Separately from Husband Billy Baldwin: 'Destructive, Stupid Decision'

The Wilson Phillips singer previously said she and her husband were living in separate homes because they had an “allergy” to one another

Chynna Phillips Baldwin is setting the record straight about her current living situation with husband Billy Baldwin.

After previously sharing that she and her husband of nearly 30 years had an “allergy” to one another and were living in separate homes, the Wilson Phillips singer, 56, now says that they do live together.

“Billy called me earlier and he was like, ‘I just read another article about how you want to be married living apart,’” she began in a video shared to her California Preachin’ YouTube channel on Dec. 29. “I just want to clarify, at that time, I felt like I needed a little bit of space and really felt like that would be the most logical answer.”

She continues, ”I am retracting that comment and I am now saying that is probably a very foolish, very unwise, very destructive, stupid decision, because that’s not going to solve our problem with the allergy.”

Chynna emphasizes that there is still “a little bit of an allergy” between her and her husband, but the pair have been “taking really good allergy medication” together.

“That allergy medication is communication, being kind and gentle, being more tolerant and really seeking out ways to be kind and supportive and more playful,” she says.

She notes that she needs “more playfulness in my life” and that’s something her husband “struggles with” — but she’s learning to be more understanding.

“Yes, I wish we could just giggle and be a little less serious together, but that’s just not his temperament as much,” she says. “He’s getting better. He is literally laughing more, playing more and finding the humor in things.”

She adds of her husband, “He’s been an awesome roommate these past few weeks. I don’t know, there’s been a shift. Maybe it’s me, maybe it’s him, maybe it’s God — maybe it’s a little bit of everything. But, I feel like we’re in a way, way better place. I’m so grateful."

The singer first shared the news that she and Baldwin were living in separate homes and in different California cities in a November YouTube video.

She explained at the time, “I said to Billy, ‘Look, why don't we just do a little test run to see what it feels like to have me in Santa Barbara, you in Beverly Hills, and then we flip-flop. Then in between, we have date nights together, we have therapy, we have dinner with the children and we go to the beach or the museum.”

The pair, who married in 1995, share three adult children together: daughters Jameson, 24, and Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22.

In another video shared later that month, the couple revealed there was an “unspoken energy” between them as they navigated their unconventional living arrangement.

“So we do have therapy today,” Chynna said to her husband while they were driving in the car. “One thing I would like to cover is, you know, obviously there’s been this unspoken energy between us. What would you call it?”

Billy responded with a smirk, “I would call it roommates, basically. I would call it coexisting.”
