Christina Hall and Heather El Moussa are coaching Tarek El Moussa from behind the scenes in a cheeky new skit.

In the video, posted on Instagram by all three HGTV stars Friday, July 26 to promote their upcoming series The Flip Off, the two women communicate with Tarek — Heather’s current husband and Christina’s ex — via headsets, as he walks onstage to give a talk on real estate.

“Did you give him all the talking points?” Hall, 41, asks, to which Heather, 36, responds, “I gave him everything, so he’s ready.”

“Smile and blink your eyes!” Heather instructs her husband through her microphone. “Wave to everyone!”

They then cue him to talk about “expired listings,” but get annoyed when he begins to deliver the wrong speech.

“I can’t do this anymore; we’re done,” Heather tells Hall, before the women walk off.

"Plot twist: we’re the brains behind the operation! 😏," reads the caption on the post.

Tarek, 42, commented on the video, writing, "Omg what is this!!!!" and claiming, "they set me up lol" when an Instagram user questioned whether he was in on the joke.

The video is the latest in a series of promos the trio have posted to promoteThe Flip Off, which HGTV announced in May. It’s also the first they’ve shared since news broke of Christina’s split from husband Josh Hall, 43, who was previously set to participate in the show.

While HGTV has not yet confirmed the status of Josh's involvement in the series, multiple sources told PEOPLE that The Flip Off is back to filming without Christina's estranged husband, after he filed for divorce on July 15.

The two couples were going to "compete to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain (and a chance at major bragging rights),” according to the network’s description of the show. It's unclear how the format may change with Christina’s partner no longer competing.

The Flip Off, which is scheduled to debut in 2025, marks Tarek and Christina’s first onscreen reunion after their original series Flip or Flop ended after nine years in March 2022.

Christina and Tarek, who split in 2016 after seven years of marriage, share daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8. Christina is also mom to son Hudson, 4, whom she shares with her second husband, Ant Anstead. Tarek and Heather welcomed a son, Tristan, in 2023.

The two couples had been releasing playful promos to tease the show for several weeks before the news of Christina and Josh’s divorce, though Josh only appeared in a few.

Josh’s divorce filing after nearly three years of marriage cited "irreconcilable differences" and asked for spousal support from the HGTV star.

Christina responded with a legal filing of her own on July 24, which asked that neither partner be allowed to request support, and listed the various real estate at stake in the divorce — including their $12 million Newport Beach, Calif. mansion.

After news of the divorce broke, a source told PEOPLE that the couple “had issues in the marriage for quite some time."
