Chrissy Teigen has opened up about an unusual pregnancy symptom she has been experiencing.

The cookbook writer is currently expecting her third child with husband John Legend and in typical Teigen style, she has been open with her fans about the realities of pregnancy.

Most recently, Teigen explained on Twitter that she is suffering from pain on the bridge of her nose.

“Super tender,” she wrote.

“I know when you’re preg [sic], they say your nose ‘spreads’ and I believe it because I’ve seen it on myself!”

She went on to ask if anyone else had experienced something similar and Twitter users were quick to share their own experiences.

Teigen hasn’t shared whether her doctors have told her the cause of her particular pain.

The NHS doesn’t list “nose spreading” as an official symptom of pregnancy, but it does state that hormone imbalances, such as during pregnancy, could be a possible cause of non-allergic rhinitis.

The condition is an inflammation of the inside of the nose, which can lead to a mild irritation or discomfort in and around your nose.

“The inflammation is usually the result of swollen blood vessels and a build-up of fluid in the tissues of the nose,” the NHS website explains.

“This swelling blocks the nasal passages and stimulates the mucus glands in the nose, resulting in the typical symptoms of a blocked or runny nose.”

Additionally, the NHS says nose bleeds can also be a common occurrence in pregnancy, again because of hormonal changes.

Though getting a nosebleed while pregnant is no doubt frightening, the NHS says there's nothing to worry about as long as you don’t lose a lot of blood.

The pain on the bridge of her nose isn’t the only pregnancy symptom Teigen has experienced this time around.

She recently shared she had been suffering from intense headaches and had been getting botox injected into her neck to help give her some relief.

Earlier this month Teigen shared a video of her baby scan, while opening up about the anxiety she’s been feeling in early pregnancy.

In the accompanying caption, Teigen discussed the concern she feels about “bits of spotting or pain” that many women experience in early pregnancy.

“On weekends we freak out!” she wrote.

“Before I’m able to start feeling the kicks, the anxiety gets the best of me and any little bits of spotting or pain freak me ouuuuuut.”

Earlier this year, Teigen also shared the fact that she’d undergone surgery to remove her breast implants.

In an Instagram post she explained: “They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it.

“I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort! No biggie! So don’t worry about me! All good. I’ll still have boobs, they’ll just be pure fat.”
