Chrissy Teigen, 34, is receiving sympathy from her followers on Twitter after sharing the details of an argument with her husband John Legend – after he left her in the lurch planning a last minute dinner at their home.

Legend, 40, who is a coach on ‘The Voice USA’, invited his fellow coaches, judges and the show’s winner over to the couple’s home after the show’s live finale. However, he apparently forgot to remind his wife.

It’s a highly relatable scenario. Your partner or spouse tells you they’re bringing friends over, but the house is a mess or there’s no food in the fridge, and the idea of hosting – considered by almost half of us to be more nerve-wracking than meeting a bank manager – seems unthinkable.

While one side might reassure “You don’t need to make an effort”, the other will worry regardless that they’re making the best impression to their guests – and feel vexed by their partner’s lack of consideration.

The stakes are higher still, one assumes, when your guests include a number of high-profile celebrities including Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson, together with the singing competition’s newly-crowned winner. Not to mention that Teigen is known for her culinary prowess – as the author of the two cookbooks.

To give Legend credit, it would seem the situation resulted from a misunderstanding over the exact date of the gathering.

But the situation has prompted a lot of discussion on Twitter, with a number of others saying they related to the scenario.

Some called it their “nightmare” scenario, while others shared their personal examples of similar situations and said they were “upset in solidarity” with Chrissy.

Others felt differently, encouraging Teigen to put less pressure on the situation and not to stress.

While the situation sparked an enlightening debate, it would seem it all ended up alright on the night.

Later on, Teigen sharing a joyous photo of the group posing together in her home.
