Chris Pratt marries Katherine Schwarzenegger after whirlwind romance
Chris Pratt’s a married man (again) after he tied the knot with Katherine Schwarzenegger in a private ceremony.
The newlyweds shared a sweet photo from the day with their fans on Instagram, opening up about the “best day of our lives”.
“We feel so blessed to begin this new chapter of our lives,” Chris wrote.
“We are so thankful to our families and our friends who stood with us, and grateful to Mr Giorgio Armani, who created a once in a lifetime dress for me to wear,” Katherine added on her own Instagram.
A private affair
People reported the pair wed in front of their nearest and dearest in California, with guests including her parents Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and his son Jack whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris.
“The venue is beautiful,” a source told the publication, “Lots of flowers and greenery everywhere. It’s a very romantic setting for a wedding.”
Katherine, 29, wore a fitted white gown with a long train and veil, and left her hair out in waves, while Chris, 39, suited up in navy.
Their love story
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star announced their engagement in December last year with a caption on Instagram reading, “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!”
The pair were first spotted together in June 2018 after they were reportedly introduced by her mother Maria.
Chris and Katherine became very serious very quickly and were spotted around Los Angeles with the actor’s six-year-old son.
Meanwhile, Anna and Chris were married for eight years before calling it quits in 2017, but have remained on good terms to co-parent their son.
After announcing his engagement, Anna took to social media to wish the pair well writing, “I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations!”
So, who is Katherine Schwarzenegger
Well, her famous last name makes it pretty obvious.
As the eldest child of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the California native has ties to one of the most famous families in American history. Shriver’s mother and Schwarzenegger’s grandmother was Eunice Kennedy, former President John F. Kennedy’s younger sister.
After graduating from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California in 2012, Katherine began building her own empire.
In her early 20s, Katherine wrote her first book, ‘Rock What You’ve Got: Secrets to Loving Your Inner and Outer Beauty from Someone Who’s Been There and Back’ and began her lifestyle blog ‘Katherine: Lifestyle on your terms’.
