Carrie Bickmore got extremely emotional, tearing up after a segment on The Project on Wednesday evening.

A 12-year-old boy named Cameron was on the Network Ten show discussing his struggle with Tourette’s Syndrome and how suffering through his condition had left him with thoughts of harming himself.

“I have thought a lot of suicidal thoughts,” Cameron admitted.

The schoolboy then put out an appeal to people to not judge someone who may be showing signs of this condition in public.

“I’d just like to say I hope whoever’s watching this will [take] this chance to understand if you see someone in public swearing or [making] body movements or sounds, just leave them,” Cameron pleaded. “Because there’s a really high possibility that they could have Tourette’s.”

Cameron’s pleas brought host Carrie to tears, as she admitted she hates “seeing any kid have to struggle through anything”.

She also praised him for being “remarkable and so eloquent”.

“To just feel like there are days when he questions his place on the planet because of the way people respond,” the 37-year-old said emotionally. “We shouldn’t be in a world where we have to say if you see us don’t do this, if you see us don’t do that.

“Like, who are we as humans to have those reactions?”

Well said Carrie, well said.
