The lovefest between Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion continues.
The two rappers have nabbed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with “WAP.” It’s the first female rap collaboration to do so after scoring a staggering 93 million streams — the most ever for any track in its first week, according to the New York Times.
Cardi B has been outspoken about uniting female artists in an industry that pits them against each other. The “WAP” music video featured appearances from rising rap stars like Mulatto, Sukihana and Rubi Rose as a gesture of solidarity. Thus, it’s unsurprising that Cardi hasn’t only been singing Megan’s praises but also gifted her a very expensive handbag.
Megan shared the moment she unboxed a customized Birkin bag from the rapper on Instagram.
“My manager just walked in and said Cardi sent you something,” Megan wrote in the caption. “Not the Birkin. Thank you, fren. Omg, I can’t believe you. I wonder what I’m gonna get her?”
Megan opens an orange Hermés box in the video. Inside, there’s an orange Birkin. On the front is a hand-painted portrait of a white tiger standing next to Megan, sporting her now-iconic tiger print bodysuit from the video. The purse’s backside features an illustration of Houston’s skyline, Megan’s hometown and the words: “Be Someone.”
“Not the Birkin! Not the Houston Birkin! Wow. I’m dead. Damn. Oh my god,” Megan says in the clip.
A Birkin bag can cost anywhere between $12,000 to more than $200,000. But the personal touches clearly make this gift priceless.
