She is known for her long, dark hair – but Camila Cabello looked unrecognisable as she revealed new silver locks this weekend.

The singer, 24, shared the before and after images of an amazing makeover with her fans on Instagram.

Captioning the post, showing a carousel of selfies, she joked: "I clean up ok."

In one picture, the star – sporting a pair of gold hooped earrings – can be seen bare-faced and still with her curly, brunette mane.

Cabello then unveiled the results of her glamorous transformation – including silver hair and glowy make-up.

At the same time, the Cuban-American star showed off the upper half of her stylish metallic-hued outfit, which featured voluminous sleeves, a collar and a low-cut front.

She also revealed statement sparkly earrings, and a manicure that appeared to precisely match the shade of her outfit for the undisclosed occasion.

Her post went down well with social media users, who left more than two million 'likes' and over 11,000 comments.

It comes just days after Cabello shocked fans with the news that she was splitting with her boyfriend of two years, fellow singer Shawn Mendes.

In a joint statement, they said: "Hey guys, we've decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.

"We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward."

The couple, who have been friends since 2014, famously united romantically after working on the song Senorita together - and they attended the Met Gala in September together.

The former member of girl band Fifth Harmony opened up earlier this year about feeling burnt out due to the pandemic.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "One of the biggest things I learned during the pandemic was the importance of REST.

"Before I literally had no choice but to stop and stand still, I didn’t know what work-life balance was. I felt guilty during days off because I felt like I wasn’t being productive or I could be doing more.

"At the same time, right before we were forced to quarantine I was completely burnt out and felt like I couldn’t do this career anymore."
