Camila Cabello Goes Strapless in Minimalist Ensemble for the ‘We, the Dream’ Gala, Introduces Environmentalist Leah Thomas
Camila Cabello opted for a strapless look for the inaugural “We, The Dream” Gala on Wednesday in New York City. The singer joined high-profile guests and distinguished attendees who were honored with various awards for justice and environmental reform during the evening’s proceedings.
For the occasion, Cabello opted for a strapless, all-black ensemble. The “Havana” singer wore a strapless top with buttons running down the front placket and a peplum flared element at the waist.

Cabello paired the top with coordinated wide-leg black trousers. Cabello opted for minimal jewelry, save for a few rings the singer wore. Her glam also featured a streamlined look, with her raven-black hair styled with soft waves and fringe to frame her face. She also opted for a smokey eye and plum lip to complete the look.
While attending the event, Cabello introduced honoree Leah Thomas. Thomas, who founded the non-profit Intersectional Environmentalist, a leading resource hub for diverse and accessible climate education, received the Dream Maker Award. Along with Thomas, Jessica Jackson received the Dream Legacy Award and Sheriff Eric S. Higgins received the Dream Future Award.
Like Cabello several notable celebrities have opted for minimalist attire to high-profile events throughout 2024. Dakota Fanning recently opted for a minimalist ’90s look in a little black dress by Giorgio Armani at an Emmy Nominee Celebration last September.
Julia Roberts styled her take on the trend for a political fundraiser last June, wearing a custom Greta Constantine black dress featuring a plunging neckline, puff sleeves and a ruffled hem.
Minimalism also made its way to the runway this year. Among the trends seen on the fall 2024 couture runways, minimalism joined the likes of boudoir, daytime and shine as a major catwalk fixation. Based on Cabello, Fanning and Roberts’ interpretations on the trend, the style is translating well both on and off the runway.
