Bunnie XO Opens Up About 'Time Consuming and Exhausting' Health Struggles
Bunnie XO has been open with her fans about everything from her personal hygiene to her experiences with weight loss drug side effects, and now the 44-year-old wife of country star Jelly Roll is getting real about the challenges of living with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety.
On the Dec. 6 episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, Bunnie brought up a common "misconception" about OCD, which she said she deals with "daily."
“I know some people joke about being a little OCD, but as someone who's actually living with OCD, I'll be the first to tell you it's not a laughing matter,” the podcaster said.

“It isn't just being tidy or organized. OCD is actually having disturbing, unwanted thoughts that cause you overwhelming anxiety because they just feel so wrong, and you really don't wanna be thinking about them.”
Bunnie went on to detail her struggle with repetitive behaviors, which she called "incredibly time consuming and exhausting."
"You do [them] to try to make the anxiety from those thoughts go away; but that just doesn't work in the long run, and they just keep coming back," she explained.
“The idea that OCD is only about hand-washing and organization is a complete misconception," Bunnie continued. "It often focuses on the things we care about most, our relationships, religious beliefs, our hobbies, and passions, in an attempt to make the distress from their unwanted thoughts go away.”

In an August 2023 post on Instagram, Bunnie shared her initial fears about how she would cope with her anxiety while on tour with Jelly Roll.
"Sobriety opened up a whole Pandora’s box of anxiety, OCD & depression j [sic] never knew j [sic] had until I had to stop covering up all the pain w/ pills & alcohol," she wrote.
"I didn’t kno [sic] how I would feel on the bus, in the crowds or even just traveling everyday again because I hadn’t done a full tour w/ the hubby since 2019," Bunnie admitted.
"Y’all.. Im so happy I pushed myself out of my box, don’t get me wrong, there are some days I want to hide & not keep up w/ appearances but I’ve discovered the key to anxiety is NOT letting it dictate what you can & can’t do. Because if it’s up to anxiety- you won’t do a lot. I could be having the worst intrusive thoughts & I push back harder now. It’s starting to become easier & easier w/ every show. I could cry when I think about how far I’ve come on this tour. Who knew all along this is what I was needing to do to start conquering my fears since getting sober."
