Who Is Bronny James’ Rumored Girlfriend? All About Parker Whitfield
Bronny James and Parker Whitfield were first linked in the summer of 2024
Bronny James has had an exciting year, and Parker Whitfield seems to be enjoying part of it with him.
The Los Angeles Lakers selected the freshman guard from the University of Southern California as the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft. The move teams him up with his superstar dad and namesake, LeBron James, and puts them on the path to becoming the first father-and-son duo to take the court at the same time for an NBA game.
After a stint in Summer League play, Bronny enjoyed downtime with Whitfield in Paris at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The pair were spotted courtside during Team USA's match against Team Serbia in the men's basketball semi-finals, along with his brother Bryce. Bronny and Whitfield were also reportedly seen together at Team USA's men’s basketball quarterfinal versus Brazil the previous day.
So who is Bronny James’ rumored girlfriend? Here's everything to know about Parker Whitfield and her potential relationship with the basketball rookie.
She has actor parents
Like Bronny, Whitfield comes from a well-known family: Her mom is actress Salli Richardson-Whitfield, who made her name in the industry with films like A Low Down Dirty Shame, The Great White Hype and I Am Legend.
Salli has also appeared on episodes of House and Criminal Minds and starred in the TV series Eureka. Her directorial credits include The Chi, Pearson, The Wheel of Time and The Gilded Age.
Parker's dad, Dondré T. Whitfield, is a veteran actor and three-time Emmy nominee with an impressive résumé, participating in projects with Kevin Hart, John Travolta, Helen Mirren, David Oyelowo and Michael B. Jordan, among others.
Salli and Dondré have been married since 2002 and have a younger son, Dre.
Whitfield is a college student
Whitfield is entering her sophomore year at Spelman College, a renowned, historically Black women's liberal arts college in Atlanta.
Her father, Dondré, praised her choice of higher education in early 2023.
“We are so excited that Parker has chosen @spelman_college as her 'great experience'! It will undoubtedly offer her a top tier education, sisterhood and citizenship,” he wrote on Instagram.
Her mom, Salli, was more reflective as they dropped Whitfield off on campus in August 2023.
“And just like that our baby is off to college. Wasn’t I just changing her diapers last week. Time has gone by way too fast," she captioned a family selfie. "I know she’s ready but I’m going to miss my baby. @alldondre we did good my love.”
She and Bronny went to school together
Although they have kept the details of a possible romance under wraps, Bronny and Whitfield have a common connection: They both attended Sierra Canyon School in California, where he played basketball, and she was part of the softball team.
They were first linked in August 2024
When LeBron was tapped to join Team USA's men's basketball team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Bronny showed up at the City of Light to support his dad.
The up-and-coming athlete attended Team USA's match against Brazil in the quarterfinals, where he was spotted sitting with Whitfield in the stands.
The next day, the two sat courtside and watched LeBron take on Team Serbia. Bronny and Whitfield were joined by his brother Bryce and his girlfriend Sadie Johnson.
That same night, footage was captured of Bronny and Whitfield holding hands as they walked on the sidewalks of Paris together. More recently, eagle-eyed fans noticed he left a comment on one of her Instagram photos. "She's so pretty," it reportedly read, per New York Post.
Her mother has a Lakers connection
Among the many achievements in Richardson-Whitfield’s storied career is her directorial work on Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, a sports drama series that chronicles the ascension of the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1980s.
In 2024, she earned an Emmy nomination for outstanding directing for a drama series and made history as the first Black woman to be recognized by the Television Academy in the drama directing category. Richardson-Whitfield also scored an outstanding drama series nod for executive producing HBO’s The Gilded Age.
Whitfield is a private person
Whitfield may be from a Hollywood family, but she shies away from the spotlight. Her social media profiles are private, and she keeps a low profile.
