Brittany Cartwright has a curt response to her estranged husband Jax Taylor's errors in his recent response to her divorce filing.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, Taylor submitted a response to Cartwright's petition to divorce without the help of legal advisors. In the handwritten document obtained by PEOPLE, the 45-year-old reality star incorrectly stated the pair were not legally married.

The timeline of their relationship was also incorrect. The Valley alums got married on June 29, 2019 and publicly announced their separation on Feb. 29, 2024. In Cartwright's original filing, she named their date of separation as Jan. 24, 2024 while Taylor claimed they went their separate ways on Sept. 26, 2024.

Taylor also checked a box indicating “other” when it came to determining child support for their son Cruz, leading to some confusion.

Hours after PEOPLE reported on Taylor's latest filing, Cartwright addressed the errors in an Instagram comment left under E! News' post.

"We are legally married," she clarified. "I’m guessing paperwork is hard for some people. 🫣."

Lance Bass, who officiated their Kentucky wedding, also replied to Cartwright's comment, writing, "I can confirm this. Pastor Lance signed the papers. 🤷🏼‍♂️."

After Taylor's faux pas went public on Wednesday, his rep gave a statement to PEOPLE on the matter and said the "errors will be amended without delay."

"Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern," his rep wrote. "While Jax made errors in filing out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay.”

"This step has been a long time coming and something Brittany knew she had to do for the best interest of herself and her son in order to move forward and put a stop to this tumultuous cycle they've been living in," the source said. "Jax is feeling mixed emotions. He knows this is ultimately the right decision but is sad that things ended up the way they have. It's an emotional month for him and he's trying to stay strong for his son."

The insider added that Taylor and Cartwright's "main priority is getting to a place of being amicable co-parents for their son and this next stop will hopefully move them closer to that goal.”
