Traveling around Australia in a caravan has become more and more common in recent years. The popular mode of seeing the country has become a favourite for people wanting to travel cheaply during the cost of living crisis.

While the caravanning trend is showing no signs of slowing, with the weather cooling down in the next few months, people are looking for ways to make their vans more comfortable. One travelling couple has revealed how they have managed to save themselves hundreds of dollars after creating a sheltered space attached to their awning for just $99, rather than spending around $700 for one.

The product allows you to add a closed room to your existing awning, giving you an extra sheltered space to hang out or sleep in while camping. It simply attaches by sliding onto the track of your awning.

"Don’t want to pay the price of a big expensive awning! $99 from anaconda! Attaches to the track on our awning," she said of the product that is usually used for 4WD camping. "This will be perfect for those yucky days," she adds.

Many other caravaners loved the idea, with one user responding, "Brilliant idea, thanks for sharing."

Others described it as a "genius" and "amazing" idea, while some questioned if it was waterproof.

The original poster responded, "We haven’t used it yet, ours will be for playing cards in when the kids are in bed and storing bikes, I just had a look and it says they are waterproof. You are able to sleep in them."
