Bride's scathing letter after bridesmaid makes shock announcement before her wedding

The lead-up to your wedding day is meant to be one of the happiest times of your life.

But one bride was left so upset by the actions of her sister, who was also her bridesmaid, that she was forced to put pen to paper in the hope that writing out her feelings would help her stop crying.

The woman wrote the letter ten years ago and sealed it. But last week it was opened up live on air on the The Ryan Tubridy Radio Show in Ireland.

The unnamed woman penned the letter six-and-a-half weeks before her big day, when she was supposed to be putting her invitations together, but instead she was spending all her time in floods of tears.

Her sister had just announced her own engagement and according to the woman, it had taken the spotlight away from her wedding day.

“You only get engaged and married once, and the run-up to my wedding should be a special time,” she wrote.

“I’ve the hen night coming up in two weeks and forgive me for being a bridezilla but the focus should be on me and my day, not you and your engagement.”

The bride went on to say that she is happy for her sister but she couldn’t understand why she couldn’t just wait another six weeks before telling people about her engagement.

“I’m so hurt that neither you nor your fiancé thought for one moment the impact it would have on me and mine, it should be our time to shine and our wedding, and you have thoughtlessly taken that away,” she continued.

The woman said she would seal the letter and consider sending it after her wedding had taken place but said; “You both will have your time in the future, I hope nobody does to you what you’ve done to me”.

She ended the note by sarcastically thanking her bridesmaid for her ‘thoughtfulness’, but claimed she wasn’t ‘surprised’.
