Brett Favre shows up to support Tom Brady after defending him following rough opener
Hall of Famer Brett Favre rushed to defend Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady after his rough season-opener last week.
On Sunday, Favre took his support for Brady to another level.
Favre showed up to Raymond James Stadium for the Bucs’ 31-17 win against the Carolina Panthers wearing a Brady T-shirt.

Favre’s latest support for Brady
Brady struggled in the Bucs’ season-opening loss to the New Orleans Saints last week.
He went 23 of 36 for 239 yards and had a pair of touchdowns through the air and had another himself on the ground, but had two interceptions — including one that was run back for a touchdown.
Tampa Bay coach Bruce Arians didn’t hold back in criticizing him after the game, either.
“He knew he didn’t play very well,” Arians said after the loss. “It’s not what he expects from himself nor do we expect. I would expect him to have a little more grit, a little more determination this week.”
Favre, however, took offense to Arians’ comments.
The longtime Green Bay Packers quarterback, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016, said that Arians was “barking up the wrong tree” by calling out Brady.
“I think the last person you want to call out after the first game of the year is Tom Brady,” Favre said on Tuesday. “Now maybe they had a mutual truce going into the game, going into the season … If they have that truce, great.
“If not, I think you are barking up the wrong tree. Dissension could easily enter quickly.”
Favre’s appearance in Florida may have helped, too.
Brady went 23 of 35 for 217 yards and a touchdown — he hit Mike Evans for a deep 23-yard score late in the first quarter — and led Tampa Bay to an easy 21-0 lead in the first half.

They held on in the second half to take the 14 point win, thanks largely to a 100-yard, two touchdown day from running back Leonard Fournette.
Be it Favre’s doing or not, Brady appears to have found his game again.
