The boy was struck by a Mazda ute on David Low Way, a busy road in Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast, about 5:10pm on Sunday.
The boy was then taken by helicopter to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokesman confirmed.

He was not hurt in the crash.
