Middleweight boxer Vanes Martirosyan was reportedly arrested in September for allegedly assaulting his wife, according to TMZ.

Martirosyan, 33, allegedly got into a verbal altercation with his wife on Sept. 15. The fight escalated to a physical attack during which Martirosyan allegedly grabbed his wife’s arm and then head-butted her in the face.

TMZ reported that Martirosyan’s wife was able to get away. The police found her after they were called to the couple’s home in Glendale, California, and she apparently had a bruise on her arm and an injured nose. She reportedly denied any medical assistance. According to TMZ, the police filed a report and Martirosyan was arrested the next day. He was released on $50,000 bond.

Martirosyan has a career record of 36-4-1, and last fought in May 2018 when he faced Gennadiy Golovkin. Martirosyan fell after two rounds and hasn’t fought since due to issues with his promoter, Don King.
